Really getting impatient waiting for this baby to get out. Didn`t sleep last night due to pains so feeling pretty out of it today. Marks not going to be around tonight to help either as he won`t be home until tomorrow afternoon. Who knew working would require so much time. : P The reality is everything will probably be fine, BUT my fantastic luck I will be going into labour and there will be a freak snowstorm which dumps three feet of snow in a matter of 15 minutes. Mark Lives In Ikea Yeah, you should just go look.

I’m pretty sure that last night I must have had some weird intuition that I needed to bypass my regular bedtime of 9 p.m. and somehow trick myself into thinking it really -wasn’t- late at all when 11:30 p.m. came and passed. Then, Mark called. Uh oh. This either is an accidental redial or, one of my many over-active imaginations coming true. Shit. Here I am thinking of my decapitated husband laying face first in some ditch somewhere when I happily hear his voice on the other end. Phew. Head must still be attached.

He’s broken down. Or, on the verge rather at this point. Somewhere in between here and work (which just so happens to be an hour away). Ok. So, now at this point I’m a little perturbed. Why one might be wondering, when this sort of thing happens all the time and really can’t be avoided by regular maintenance or service. Back and forth on the phone with him finally telling me I’m going to have to pick him up. ME?! On bed-rest? This could be messy. Of course, I have to play the role of the “fixer”. I call a tow-truck. Simple solution, right? Well. Only in part. They don’t do many deliveries of husbands stuck at garages at 2:30 a.m. And I assume by the time-line, he tried his best to drive the speed limit so I can’t be too upset that I have to actually -leave- the house. Which by all means is a whole other issue just in itself, as I’ve locked myself in the house like nuclear war has occurred and I am not going out THERE.

Anyways, back to my story.

Surprisingly the tow-truck driver has not left Mark to stand in the pouring rain but so thoughtfully has waited with him. Bonus. No wet spots in MY car! HA HA! Not that it really crossed my mind, I promise! So here I am in my pj’s and slippers, with midget dog in tow for safety reasons of course, driving home cursing at all the drivers who dared to share the road with me this late at night. Can’t you see I’m pregnant and clearly emotionally unstable and just a little too heavy footed riding your stupid 60 km/h bumper? Geez, give a girl a break sometimes.

Overall it’s probably a fairly easy, but an unwanted expense, fix. Thank god we have a wonderful mechanic (I’m open to changing my opinion when the bill arrives) who is a family friend too. I’m just hoping he’s efficient AND quick.
